Adventures of Bike Girl #2

Adventure #2: Bike Girl Stops Traffic

Yesterday afternoon I had Ellie with me as I went grocery shopping. I had all of her school stuff plus my 2 bags of groceries piled on top of my basket. As we were riding merrily along, I hit a little bump, and my groceries proceeded to fly out of my basket! There was the chocolate bar, the dark chocolate with almonds, and my chocolate filled sweet rolls (do you see a theme here?) right on the ground. And oh, no! A van was coming towards it! I was not about to let some van smash my after dinner dessert. I quickly parked the bike and pulled Ellie out, just in time to run in front of the van to rescue my yummies. I bowed profusely as I scrambled to pick up the items, and ran back to my bike.

And yes, as I rode back home happy, I once again thought to myself, "That was blog material."

One more quick thing. As I was picking up Zack at CAJ, I once again had Ellie on the back of my bike. My legs were killing me from all the biking back and forth, so I said out loud, "Man, my legs hurt SO bad!!", hoping to have some sympathy. Instead, Ellie comes back with her grown-up voice, "Well, welcome to Japan!!"

Mister Donut

Yesterday was Jeff's birthday, so I took him to my new favorite place...

"Mister Donut" for a breakfast treat. The donuts are not as sweet as the ones in America, by the way. Anyway, I did not realize how many times I had been there until I joked with the cashier girl, "I'll have my usual". Without missing a beat, she went right to my "usual," Angel Creme Donut. Oh my word... I guess I HAVE been there a few times!! My "MisDo" card now has close to 200 points. I'm planning on claiming my first prize using 150 points: A MisDo coffee mug.

See, I'm finding much joy in these little adventures here in Japan. :)

Which color should I choose?
