Zack was trying to help Mom cook some pancakes this morning, and things started out nicely. But before he could enjoy his creation, his fingers overlapped the metal on the skillet handle. His blood-curdling scream is what woke me out of bed. (We're hoping the neighbors didn't hear!)
He had burned two fingers and his thumb on his left hand pretty badly. He soaked his hand in icewater for 3 hours before finally allowing us to bandage his fingers. The icewater actually helped immensely, as did the burn medication we applied afterward.
It has been a traumatic day for him, but he's feeling better this evening. He was even able to ride his bike with me though the neighborhood as I showed him a little more about where he now lives.
Thanks for remembering him in your prayers.
Speaking of the offending skillet, the bottom of it has a good example of Janglish (Japanese English).
Olive and Tomato are my favorite foods.
I'm going to cook you a nice dinner.
Won't you come and see me?
Brade
Yes, this was the skillet that came in the cardboard box that served as our (2nd and 3rd) nameplates for the outside gate. But it rained again, and we've moved onto a box that the kitchen light came in. The fourth sign is wrapped in plastic now.
