Summer Summary Part 2

July was also the "River Clean-Up and Play Day" for our city's Kurome Gawa. Zack caught lots of craw fish, and Ellie--to her utter shock and dismay at what was in her net-- caught a Shanghai crab that was about 5 inches big!

Jeff took Zack the scientist to see the solar eclipse at a nearby science center. Unfortunately, it was a very cloudy day, so not too many people actually were able to see it (so the photo of friends looking up with their mouths open is...staged! Good photo nonetheless!). But Zack said that he actually saw a little bit of it, so hopefully he will remember that and tell his children that he was in Japan when it all happened! :)
