Re-Entry Permit!

reentry-permit-closeupI got it!! I got it!! After all those phone calls, emails, 2 trips to California, more emails to lawyers and immigration workers, etc. etc., I finally got the Re-entry Permit today! I didn't want to celebrate until I actually had it in my hand:) We also were able to get Ellie's American passport renewed, so it was a very successful day (we tried going on 2/16, forgetting that the Embassy closes on American National Holidays...and it was Presidents' Day!! We made certain before we left today that it wasn't any sort of holiday).

It took over an hour to get there today... can you believe we chose the coldest day of the year?! When we biked from home to the station, it was pouring down rain, and then while we were on the train it turned to snow! And when we were out walking to the American Embassy, the snow turned into HUGE flakes... I've never seen such gigantic snowflakes before!

You can see a snowflake in front of Zack!

On our bikes returning home, it turned to sleet. We got to experience 3 kinds of precipitation in one day.

Thanks to all of you who have been praying for this saga! It's now over... until I have to renew it in 2 years. But we won't think about that right now.
