You Know You're in Japan When...

  • ...Coffee Jello Frapuccino at Starbucks becomes your favorite drink.
  • don't see anything wrong with red beans in your vanilla ice cream. Nor black sesame latte.
  • ...after purchasing cake at a department store, they ask you how far your home is. Then you get all offended for asking such a personal, unrelated question. Then you realize that they asked so they can supply you with dry ice in the box to keep your cake cool. Then you try to pretend you knew all along.
  • unplug your toilet seat for the summer.
  • find yourself bowing during a phone conversation.
  • cover your mouth when laughing and talking.
  • slurp your noodles and make as much noise as you can.
  • ...parking your bike at the 100 yen parking area is a normal routine.
  • see little children as young as Ellie riding the trains and buses by themselves.

I'll post more as I think of them!
