Official Temporary Nameplate

"No Mail for You!"

We were informed by our post office that our mail would not be delivered until we got a nameplate to replace the No family nameplate, which was removed before we moved into our new house.

So I took a flap from the skillet cardboard box Nozomi just purchased and grabbed a Sharpie to make our official -- albeit temporary -- nameplate for our house.

Presto! Instant sign!

Official Temporary Nameplate

We've Got Mail!

I'm not sure if my sign really does say "Johnston" (jyonsuton) or something vastly different. But at least we're getting our mail now.

Official Temporary Nameplate

Actually, this is the second sign I've made, because the first one washed away in the thunderstorm last night. With thunderstorms expected each of the next few days, we're going to have to find a more permanent option soon, such as a custom-made tile that will go right into the wall.
