Wanna Be His Hands and His Feet, Part 2

...a community of homeless people who have put up these make-shift homes with tarps, and items that they have found in the trash. One guy had an old tent, and as Zack was giving him the bag, I peeked on the inside...there was a heap of trash. He was literally nesting in a trash pile.

On our way to another area, we noticed that there were cardboard boxes covering a long median in the middle of a very busy road. The space was so narrow that I thought for sure no one could live there. I thought it was a recycle area for cardboard boxes. Jeff and Larry, Marcia's husband, both went to go check it out (it was too dangerous to cross the road for the children). And sure enough, this was another community of homeless people. One man popped his head out of a small box. Jeff gave him some food along with the tract. He could see only one blanket under his box, and he was laying on his own urine. Larry was able to give him a Bible and some bottled drinks with cups.

As we watched this from across the street, we prayed outloud for this man, that he would find nourishment from the food, but also find hope, significance, and love in Jesus Christ. May this man drink the Living Water and be satisfied forever.

On our way back, Zack commented, "I will NEVER complain about my bed again!" (Sometimes he gets frustrated when his blankets fall off, etc.). His perspective has already changed.
