Bike Boy meets Futon Man

"Futon Man!"

That's right, I strapped that futon on my back, and took off up the big hill for home. I was "Futon Man!"

Bike Boy meets Futon Man

Apparently this is a sight rarely seen in my neck of the woods.
Too bad we didn't do video, huh?

A Comical Spectacle

More than a few people stared at me. I mean here I was, a "gaijin" (foreigner) doing something most people have never seen. Being a spectacle is often my daily experience, but I rather enjoyed this particular occurrence. It seemed to bring surprise and smiles on the face of those I passed.

After delivering the first futon to our house, I rode my bicycle back to the store and asked kindly for the second one. The store clerk shook her head in amazement, saying, "Are you okay? What a pain, huh?"

Hey, to me, it's just another adventure of Bike Boy (although getting up that hill the second time was a bit more of a grind).
